Atlas 225 LC – Hydraulically rotating boom

The Atlas 225 LC was designed and built by ECHLE for use in the steel and metallurgical industry for cleaning slag buckets and ladles. The ladles are cleaned of slag residues after the casting process at high temperatures.

A break-out tooth made of heat-resistant steel was specially designed for this purpose, which is equipped with heat-resistant and self-lubricating slide bearings on the boom. The rice force on the break-out tooth is transmitted via a parallelogram kinematic system from a hydraulic cylinder in the cooler rear section to the tip of the boom.

To clean the ladles completely of slag, the boom can be rotated 360° to position the stripping tooth correctly in the ladle. To withstand the high loads, the boom is made of high-strength structural steel.

All hydraulic components were protected against the high temperatures with appropriate protective measures and all lubrication points were lubricated with high-temperature grease.
